for the spiritually inclined!
Background
I read the ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ by Paramhansa Yogananda the first time when I was 16 years old. From that day onwards, many parts of the book, the images of the saints inside & fragments of its stories always remained ensconced in my mind. When I read the book again at the age of 42, I felt as if I had just read the book a few weeks ago.
This book is ‘magical’.
A year ago, I visited ‘Babaji’s Cave’ and my life changed forever. Babaji is a central saint mentioned in the Autobiography of a Yogi.
(ps - also check this amazing story that transpired this year)
What’s in the book?
It’s a beautiful, narrative, gripping story of Paramhansa Yogananda and his amazing real life experiences with Saints, Gurus and actual anecdotes of his personal life.
The book reads like an enchanting Novel and does not ever try to deliver sermons or philosophy or some ‘gyaan’ (knowledge) that may sound boring or ‘religious’.
What I do know is that this book is blessed with some kind of unseen power. It blesses people who read it (I’m not a starry eyed teenager making a random statement here. It's based on countless feedback that I have received from people who read the book for the first time).
( Trivia - In Steve Job's autobiography, Walter Isaacson mentions that the ONLY book Steve job read every year on his iPad WAS the Autobiography of a Yogi).
What am I trying to achieve?
I want the maximum number of people in the world to read this book and I want people to be blessed, directly or indirectly via the magical power of this book.
In order to create a long term, sustained interest in my endeavor, I have created a page on Facebook that features people photographed with the book. It's a way of applauding the readers as well as encouraging more and more people to read the masterpiece and be blessed.
The page is simple called facebook.com/People.with.Ay .
At the appropriate time, I will attempt to register the gallery in the Guinness Book of World records as a Unique Record of showcasing the largest number of people featuring themselves with this particular book.
How can you get this book?
There are 5 simple ways:
1. The book is FREE on Amazon (with photos inside). This is the link - http://amzn.to/ay-kindle
2. The book is also free on iBooks but this version does not have photographs inside. I believe that the photos (of the Saints, Babaji, etc) are magical and must be seen. The iBook link is - http://bit.ly/ay-itunes
3. This is the Free Online Version of the book! http://bit.ly/rm-ay-online
4. I am giving away physical copies of the book, but I am not shipping them to people. Rather, I give them away when I meet people (typically when they come to my office or my entrepreneur open houses). My e-mail is alok@rodinhood.com in the event that you want to connect with me.
5. The book is available in all major bookshops and e-commerce book shops. Flipkart - http://bit.ly/ay-flipkart
Note – if you do buy the book, please look inside and buy the one that has photographs inside it, such as:
You should not miss the photographs in the book!
How to get featured on the pinterest board “People with Autobiography of a Yogi”?
It’s simple! Just photograph yourself in any way you want (with a physical or e-book - see the gallery featured above) and send a high resolution photograph (about 1MB) to me at alok@rodinhood.com
Mention your name and city, and I will post you on the board!
Obviously it doesn't matter if I gave you the book or not! We just need happy people with the book in the photograph!
The facebook page is - https://www.facebook.com/People.with.AY

It would be delightful if you send a link of this post to your friends, family and associates so as to help us all achieve the world record AND receive the magical blessings of all the saints featured in the book!

Dear Alok,
You may not remember me, but we interacted in The Pitch - Season 2 program, and few other events (I am the 4G guy :-) ) - I did not win the program, but was the runner-up.
I regularly read your rodinhood.com blogs, and was surprised to see the Monastery part! I read Auto Biography of a Yogi when I was in my early 20s and was blown away. I used to moderate a group on Babaji and Kriya Yoga in Yahoo Groups (interesting called Murugavataar Babaji since the owner thought Babaji was an Avatar of Murugan (another name for Sri Karthikeya / Sri Subrahmanya) - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MurugaavatarBabaji/
I stopped writing in the past two years due to work load. May be I should do it! Btw, I'll sure post a pic in the board, and I have given away a lot of books to friends too! Thanks a bunch for your link to travel to Babaji's cave. Though I follow of different system other than Kriya Yoga, travel to Babaji's cave should be a blessing!
Regards
Sriram
